Baker Schena Communications
Lori Baker-Schena launched Baker Schena Communications in 1987 as a marketing and public relations agency focused on healthcare communications. For close to three decades, the company has produced brochures, website content, trade publication feature articles, newsletters, employee publications and direct mail pieces for some of the top healthcare-related companies in the nation.
In 2014, Baker Schena Communications expanded to include motivational speaking and leadership consulting, building on Dr. Baker-Schena’s 20+ years as a university professor and her extensive training in organizational leadership.
Lori Baker-Schena, MBA, EdD, is the founder and chief executive officer of Baker Schena Communications. Dr. Baker-Schena has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a MBA from California State University, Northridge, and a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne.
From 1990 to 2014, Dr. Baker-Schena served as a university professor of Journalism, with an emphasis in Public Relations, at California State University, Northridge. She began her academic career as an adjunct professor, joining the full-time faculty in 2007. She received tenure in 2013, and one year later retired to focus full time on Baker Schena Communications.
Prior to launching Baker Schena Communications, Dr. Baker-Schena worked on the copy desk of the Daily News, served as the employee newsletter editor for National Medical Enterprises and was the director of public relations and marketing for the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and Hospital.
